Hologic, Inc. Announces Launch of Lorad E-Commerce Website
Extranet Site Provides Electronic Parts Ordering and On-line Technical Resources for Registered Dealers

Hologic, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOLX), a leading provider of specialized medical imaging equipment for women's health and general radiographic applications, today announced the launch of a service-oriented extranet site for its subsidiary, Lorad, of Danbury, CT. Lorad develops and manufactures state-of-the-art breast imaging systems to support the early detection of breast cancer. The Lorad site provides electronic ordering capabilities for registered dealers, along with on-line resources for parts identification, technical bulletins, Operator's Manuals, and CME-approved training courses for Lorad equipment. It also provides a forum for e-mail response to non-urgent technical questions.

According to Jack W. Cumming, CEO and President of Hologic, "This site is one of many initiatives we are undertaking to provide the most comprehensive, readily-accessible support possible. The ability to place an order any time of the day or night, and to have on-line access to technical material will greatly facilitate shipment of replacement parts and accessories as well as resolution of routine service issues. This will increase the availability of our field service technicians and engineers for real-time response to more complex issues. We look forward to ongoing enhancements to this site based on input from its users."

Commenting on launch of the site, Pete Kershaw, Vice President & General Manager of Lorad said, "We are pleased to be able to bring this new capability to our dealers. This system was developed internally by Information Systems and Field Service personnel to streamline parts identification, ordering, service, and training processes. As a result of their efforts, we will be able to provide customer support more efficiently and responsively. This extranet site, combined with our 24/7 telephone support services and on-site visits by our technical staff provides a complete range of support services to address any situation."
